Excellent question Norval!

1. Gen. Ed. Courses: We don't have a mandatory lab hour for our students. So, instead we are working to establish "Learning Communities" through peer-lead (senior students or international students) study groups. The focus is on giving our students more opportunity speak and use the language in simulated experiences.

2. Gen. Ed. Courses: Increasing students' mobile learning options to meet the needs of a 50% commuter student population & an increasing population of students who are non-traditional with work and family responsibilities

3. Majors / Minors: Encouraging use of peer-to-peer technologies (web conferencing, Google docs (peer editing / translation)).

4. Majors / Minors: Increasing faculty technology competencies particularly as it relates to mobile learning and on-line / hybrid teaching.

5. Majors / Minors: Individualized Language Plans - using our assessment program to create individualized language learning plans

6. Majors / Minors: Supporting our Service Learning courses through innovative technologies (as fits the course).

7. Program Development Support: Expanding our World Languages Meet for High School students & teachers

There are many others but these are probably the biggest challenges and highlights.

I look forward to seeing what all the others contribute to this discussion!

Deanne
