In Firefox it is Options > Privacy > Use custom settings for history > uncheck Remember search and form history (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/control-whether-firefox-automatically-fills-forms).  You can also choose to select “Never Remember history” if you prefer.  On public/shared machines, I also enable the option to “Clear history when Firefox closes” before copying settings over to the Default Profile.



Also, if your users log into a domain it may not be much of an issue since new user profiles would be created upon login.  If they are accessing the exam on a machine that is outside of your admin control, however, there is little you can do.  Currently, no standards-compliant solution exists for disabling autocomplete on certain HTML fields either … but you could test the autocomplete=”off” in your input/textarea form fields across browsers/platforms.
