Authentic Film and Music in the Foreign Language Classroom:  Increase Proficiency and Student Engagement!
Dates / Times:   July 25 and 26/ 9 am – 2 pm
Location: WPI Campus Center in Worcester, MA

Discover the uses of authentic film and music for increasing student participation and proficiency.  The morning sessions will be devoted to exploring various foreign language films and music selections and seeing some possibilities for classroom use. The afternoon sessions will be project based where teachers can have time to develop one lesson using a film or music selection of his or her choice.  The examples provided in this workshop will be in French and Spanish but are applicable to any language. Participants are asked to bring one foreign language movie and one song selection to share with the group.
