The University of Oregon's NFLRC is seeking a new director for the Center for Applied Second Language Studies --it's a wonderful opportunity to lead a highly productive and dedicated group of language professionals.

General Duties of the CASLS Director

The CASLS director provides intellectual and organizational leadership by setting the center’s priorities and strategies.  The director represents CASLS to internal and external stakeholders by cultivating and leading a network of professional colleagues and partners.  The director shall have a collaborative, interdisciplinary attitude toward language education and an international perspective.

This is a full-time, renewable administrative position that may include limited teaching and research options depending upon individual interests and qualifications and the needs of CASLS.  For the successful candidate, circumstances may warrant the granting of faculty rank and the possibility of faculty tenure.  The CASLS director reports to the Vice Provost for International Affairs.  The annual salary will range between $85,000 - $100,000, depending on the individual’s background and experience.  The University of Oregon offers an excellent benefits package.
