Dear David,
I've installed Fusion (VMware) and it works seamlessly with Mac OS X
Leopard. No special configuration required.
The installation of Windows XP requires a legal copy of the OS
software on CD. The instructions are easy to follow. (I used the
express Windows XP setup.) You may want to change the network setting
to "Bridged" instead of the default "NAT" configuration depending
what you plan to do in Windows.
Because of the way backups are made with Time Machine, I put the VM
disk image inside a sparsebundle disk image. But this is not strictly
required.
Best regards,
Will McKee.

Dear LLTIers,
We've purchased a few new 20" iMacs (2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo). We'd
like to
install Windows XP and Fusion on one machine, mainly for
demonstration purposes.
Fusion is supposed to make switching back and forth between the two
operating
systems "seamless"--no rebooting necessary.
Can anybody provide Do's and Don'ts for installing Windows on this
nice new Mac?
Is any preparation needed? Our machines are not managed by the
university--we're
on our own.
Thank you.
