We use the CALIFONE 3066AV too and have been quite satisfied. Their "ugliness"
helps keep them from sprouting legs or being the victims of attempted theft. We
have a failure rate of about 1 in 15 per academic year (usually a short develops
in the chord resulting in sound coming to only 1 earpiece (or to both if you
hold the chord just right). Also, the company is good about replacing them cost
free if the failure is within the 1 year warranty period. We order ours from
Troxell Communications at 1-800-352-7912 and pay $31-$35 for batches of 25 or
more.
