Dear DOC,

I'm writing to let you know about two great opportunities for paid outdoor internships this coming summer. Two Grant Internships positions, paying $3500 each and offering free housing, are available at the Second College Grant to conduct a project of your own choosing plus some responsibilities assigned by the Dartmouth Woodlands Office. One or two Northern Studies Internships are also available for any location to support a wide range of projects concerning northern regions. For example, one student is currently using Northern Studies Internship funding to study the environmental impact of cutting backcountry ski glades in Vermont, and another is using funding to study traditional log cabin building techniques in Estonia. Previous recipients have done environmental research in connection with their majors. These internships also pay $3500 each. See the enclosed documents for more information and details about the spring-term application requirments. Please feel free to contact me about the Northern Studies Internships and Tim McNamara about the Grant Internships.

Stay warm!
Dan
