Hey!


I'd like to thank you all for expressing interest/coming to our meeting! I'd like to apologize in advance for this rather lengthy email.


As you hopefully saw from our time in Iceland, although we're a pretty new club, we've got the drive to plan some pretty fantastic things and see them through.


To join us on our trips, and also to access to our equipment/listserv, make sure to fill out the attached application and join us on Orgsync.


Unfortunately just being a member of the club won't make you magically better. We can give feedback on photos and host discussions and workshops on technique, lighting, and composition - but this club will most benefit the people who have the drive to learn - even if  there are setbacks or even if it's on their own.


For the most part, we're all students and I realize that the quarter system is pretty rough on outside interests and extracurriculars. For myself as well, this means that I won't always be able to plan things.


What I'd like to ask of you is to take the initiative; if you'd like to see something happen, let me know and we'll put you in contact with people who are also interested. Even if you're all new photographers, bounce ideas between one another - we're all here to learn. Hopefully this way you'll be able to meet some different people who share the same passion for photography.


The first step? Just go out and take photos (Jones Media Center has lots of cameras).


We're also looking for people who would be interested in taking a executive position with the club - if you'd be interested, let me know.


For spring break, I'm also planning on taking a couple people on a road trip down the coast of California (some warm weather for a change). If you're interested in participating and can help plan the logistics, let me know.
