The Amarnite community finds it important to talk about these subjects as homecoming approaches and with it, the end of the frat ban.

We care deeply for the wellbeing of our fellow students and want to make steps to ensure the student body (especially 22s!) know the systems of violence that are perpetuated on this campus, and know the resources available to them if they find themselves stuck in this system.

Monday Night Dinner: A biweekly event at Amarna on Mondays. We invite a professor, a member of the faculty, or of the community to join us for dinner and have an open discussion in a casual setting.

This time, however, the discussion will be a bit more structured, as tough ideas and experiences will be brought up. The evening will progress as follows:

  1. We will come together to have a meal at 7:00 PM. All dinners are homemade and always include a vegetarian option and dessert. Informal. Casual. Delicious.
     * During this time we will have the opportunity talk to our guest, Kristi Clemens, about whatever the guests want. How she got here, what she likes to do in her free time, stories, etc
  2. Following this conversation, everyone who wishes to participate in a discussion surrounding the topic of sexual assault, the red zone, and the frat ban can move to our comfy couches where some members will help to facilitate some dialogue on these tough subjects.
     * Being that there is a possibility that some participants can be triggered by the things that will be brought up, there will be a designated space to go and take a moment.
  3. Following this, we will have the opportunity to decompress with dessert!

We hope to see you all here!

With unending love,

The Amarnites
