To the Dartmouth Community -
After perceiving a need on this campus, we are excited to reintroduce Common Sense, originally established in 1986. This publication’s mission is to provide a platform for the collision of ideas in the hopes that contrasting viewpoints will inspire productive and rational discourse.
The inaugural issue's statements are:
1) Anonymous writing promotes constructive discourse.
2) An expression of solidarity is a meaningful action.
Here's how it works: The editors pose a thought-provoking statement, and then two short, anonymous columns - one agreeing and one disagreeing - respond. Theoretically, anonymity will allow for students to submit their ideas without fear of public backlash against their character.
If you have any interest in either or both topics, go ahead and fill out this non-binding Google form<https://goo.gl/forms/CRd2YROfnhCXmqhC2>.
