Telling My Story on Campus is Back!!

This term the spotlight is on "First Generation College Students"

Telling My Story On Campus (TMSOC) is a platform that offers participants space and tools to address and reflect, in a dialogical and experiential way, upon the invisible social walls of race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and other issues identified by students that allows the individuals within the TMS group to better understand their peers. The goal? To build a healthier community based on acceptance, inclusiveness and empathy.

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."

-Maya Angelou

"I realized then that there's something powerful and irreplaceable about hearing stories from people in person, not over the Internet or in the newspaper or through someone else's voice. I believe in change happening at that level-between two people talking and listening....getting to know people on the other side of an issue or behind social barriers is an active discipline, at times a deliberate challenge"

--Anna Morenz '13, Valedictorian and Telling My Story Participant
