The Nathan Smith Society is Dartmouth’s largest pre-health student organization serving over 900 members with clinical shadowing opportunities at DHMC, dinners and talks with physicians, and additional opportunities for pre-health students to gain greater exposure to and understanding of medicine. Some of our recent projects have included hosting a psychiatry panel, raising $500 for the Good Neighbor Health Clinic through our Valentine’s Day Flower Drive, and organizing an educational cadaver lab session for undergraduates at the Geisel School of Medicine. The Nathan Smith Society serves all students interested in any of the health professions.

If you are interested in learning more about medicine and pre-health events at Dartmouth, but are not yet part of our organization and receiving our event emails, please reach out to Dr. Witters ([log in to unmask]) to join our listserv and organization.

Importantly, if you are interested in shadowing at DHMC this term, you must attend the upcoming required orientation meeting over Zoom this upcoming Monday, April 1st from 7-7:30 PM prior to application access. As a reminder, this program is the only way undergraduates are permitted to shadow at the DHMC (i.e. no personal "out-of-program" arrangements are allowed). The Zoom meeting information will be sent out via the NSS listserv later on this week (not the campus listserv).

More information about the organization and shadowing opportunities are available on our website: https://sites.google.com/dartmouth.edu/nathansmithsociety/

Thank you,
The Nathan Smith Society Leadership Committee
