The Department of Theater announces OPEN AUDITIONS for this term's student production:

Performances will be in the Bentley Theater, March 1 and 3 @ 8 PM; March 4 @ 2 PM.


About the SHOW:

Proof is the story of a young woman navigating the aftermath of her father's death. Throughout her journey of reconciliation, she faces obstacles that range from her controlling sister, an unassuming love interest, mind-boggling mathematics, and finally her own mind.


Note: There are four characters in this play.  The role of Catherine will be played by Tess McGuinness '18, and the role of Robert (her father) will be played by theater professor, James Rice.


Available Roles:


Claire (29): Sister of Catherine, Claire is successful and sharp. She moved from Chicago to New York in pursuit of her career, financially supporting Catherine and Robert for five years. She is back for Robert's funeral and attempting to help Catherine regain balance by re-inserting herself into Catherine’s life and asserting control.


Hal (28): Hal is a well-meaning former student of Robert, Catherine’s father. He is now a young teacher at the University of Chicago and something of a stalled boy-prodigy. Unsatisfied with his career, he is obsessed with the legendary figure of Robert. He is attracted to Catherine and has been for years.
