Have you seen a spiffy red vehicle driving around campus? Have you seen people with reflective lettering on their backs walking around? You probably saw members of Dartmouth EMS.

Dartmouth EMS is a state-licensed, basic life support, emergency medical service. We are entirely student run and student staffed. Our EMTs are on call most nights of the week and for most of the weekend. When anyone calls Safety and Security about any type of medical emergency (including Good Sam calls), our EMTs are sent for treatment and evaluation. As highly trained medical professionals we strive to provide the best care possible and as students we are dedicated to helping our fellow students.

We are a non-transporting agency. This means that we cannot take patients anywhere in our EMS vehicle. If a student needs to go to Dick's House Safety and Security will transport the student and one of our EMTs will accompany the student. If the student needs to DHMC they can either be driven there by Safety and Security or they can go with Hanover Fire Department's ambulance.

In addition to being on call for campus emergencies, Dartmouth EMS provides standby coverage for any type of on-campus or off-campus event, manages the College's AEDs, and provides CPR and First Aid Classes to the community.
