It's not a job, it's a lifestyle!

As the Director of New Stores and Facilities at Warby Parker, Sarah Apgar (T'11) oversees the design and development of the company's retail stores and corporate office facilities nationwide. She loves bringing an unusual background and fresh perspective to the fashion retail and real estate industries. Prior to joining the Warby Parker team in 2012, she spent her professional career in the military, outdoor education, and nonprofit sectors. She has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BA from Princeton and was an All-American Rugby player and Captain in the Army's Corps of Engineers.

In 2003 she deployed as a Platoon Leader attached to the 101st Airborne Division in Mosul, Iraq. During her Tuck years, she helped Peter Dolan, former CEO of Bristol Meyers-Squibb, to launch a national non-profit for child nutrition. An entrepreneur to the core and with a passion for fitness, Sarah launched Fitfighter Training this past year and secured the FDNY as one of her clients. A fitness training outfitter for firefighters, the Fitfighter team designs and builds equipment and programs for weight-loaded fitness training. Sarah is in love with her husband Ben Smith and her rat terrier, Jackson.

Learn more about Sarah's path, and get her advice including:

* How to develop a mindset that leads to success
* What it's like to be a female in positions that are typically male-dominated
* How valuable military experience and past leadership can be applied as you move into other roles
* Does it matter where you start if your end goal is entrepreneurship?
...And more!
