Examples of Past Internships:
Homeless Children's Education Fund
17X
Pittsburgh, PA
The homeless children’s education fund has played a critical role in advocacy and educational opportunity among homeless youth in Allegheny county for over 20 years. This intern worked with the organization to develop a curriculum on college and career readiness for homeless youth, ran a community outreach program on the same topic, and served on several advisory boards to the local HUD office on how to approach the housing crisis in Pittsburgh, with particular attention on LGBT+ and unaccompanied homeless youth.

Navos
17X
Seattle, Washington
Navos is a non-profit that works with children of all ages who have gone through serious trauma and/or abuse, and offers on campus rehabilitation before they move on to the foster care system. As a Children’s Residential Intern, this intern worked with a group of 8-10 year olds as they were rehabilitating and relearning social behaviors. On a day-to-day basis, this included taking care and supervising the kids from the moment they woke up until they went to bed at night. Additional work included attending weekly staff meetings, meeting with the therapists and psychologists to discuss treatment, and meeting with legal teams and social workers to discuss the children’s placements.

We offer funding for each term! Design-Your Own Domestic Internship for all terms and/or Design-Your Own International Internship or Apply for a Cohort Program in Boston or San-Francisco for the Summer Term.
