SOCIAL IMPACTS & BENEFITS OF OIL DEVELOPMENT IN THE ARCTIC, PROF. MERRILD HANSEN

4:30pm, 041 Haldeman

Professor Anne Merilld Hansen, PhD, Ilisimatusarfik (University of Greenland), and The Danish Centre for Environmental Assessment, Aalborg University, Denmark, will introduce the history of oil in the Arctic and talk about the social impacts known to be related to large scale industrial development. Co-sponsored by the Institute of Arctic Studies at the Dickey Center for International Understanding and the Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society
