Greetings, friends!

For Theology on Tap tonight, we'll discuss the Bible, and its role in Christian life.

The Anglican tradition is largely based on a threefold model of Scripture, tradition, and reason. The eminent Reformation-era theologian, Richard Hooker, likened this to a three-legged stool: if any of the legs is too short or two long, the stool topples over.

In the 21st century, how do we approach the collection of documents we call the Bible?
What does it mean that someone, somewhere chose what was to be included and what would be left out?
Can we take the Bible seriously without taking it literally?
What do we do with the problematic passages in the Old Testament and in the Letters of Paul?

Come discuss these and other questions with us at 9pm at the Canoe Club over free drinks and fries.

We do this every Monday, so if you can't make it tonight, come next week!

Regardless, all are welcome at Episcopal Campus Ministry events-- no exceptions.

Peace,
Ethan Falleur, '16
ECM Coordinator
