FEED
There’s gonna be a feed this Wednesday! And not just any feed – THE
PLANNING FEED!!
The planning feed is that special feed at the beginning of the term when we
elect people to the responsibilities of the various chairs that keep the
CnT machine going, and also talk about the major trips and exciting things
that are going to happen this term!
You’ll also get to eat delicious food cooked by our very own chefs Juan
Oscar Sanchez Jr. and Vipul Kakkad. The menu is yet to be determined, but
delightful company of cheerful ‘chubbers’ is guaranteed =)

How I can describe senior spring with maximum drama? By packaging the next
ten weeks as our last opportunity to live for ourselves, before we're put
out into a society that expects us to contribute. By starting the term at
the Farmer's Diner--someone else's dream now at the brink of despair. And
by making sure that those of us on our last legs do not finish at any pace
but a sprint. That this ending is not a twist or a cliffhanger or a dud,
but an explosion. Bright enough so that the younger generations will have
seen lights that we have not, loud enough so that they hear what we cannot.
Our term has come--our egg timers have always been set to Spring of Two
Thousand and Twelve. But if we chew loud enough and laugh heartily, we can
hope to block out the ticking. The Ride is Free, Bring Small Bills.
Armington Heeler Overnight and Sunrike!
Description: It's the first week of classes and you don't have work, are
still amazed by the way it (kinda) looks like spring outside, and want to
spend awesome time with awesome people in the out of doors ... so come to
Armington cabin! There will be delicious dining, a lovely lake,
gulumptious games (could't come up with a good adjective), beautiful
bonding, and a spectacular sunrise. Could there be anything better?
Timing: Leaving Robo at 5:30pm on Thursday evening, back by 9Ls on Friday.
Difficulty: I've been told eating and sleeping is purty challenging ...

Moonemacher Overnight
When: Leaving Thursday afternoon, returning Friday morning (before
your earliest class)
Cost: $9 DOC, $14 non-DOC
We'll spend the night in beautiful, spacious Nunnemacher cabin at the
Dartmouth skiway. Earlier we'll have dinner and peradventure we'll
look at some stars. Even earlier, if there's enough interest/time we
have the option of getting there by bike along scenic River Road, a
breezy 10 mile ride from Hanover. Rentals are free but may be limited,
so please request a bike if you don't have one you're comfortable
riding 10 miles on, and a helmet if you don't have one as well.
Alternatively, you can catch a ride in Julia's comfy sprinter. In the
morning we'll watch the sunrise over Holt's Ledge, a precipitous
overlook with fine views of the mountains to the East (be on the
lookout for peregrine falcons), then drive home before your morning
classes.

What: Winter Skillz Workshop!
Where: We will hike on Mt. Washington and camp in Tuckerman's Ravine
When: 4pm on Friday to Saturday evening.
Don't feel like you got enough snow this winter? Want to learn ice axe
and crampon use, emergency snow shelter building, and winter travel
skills?? Want to hike around Mt. Washington on a beautiful weekend??
Want to lead *above-treeline* and extended (e.g. Cabinhopping) trips
in the winter for CnT??? (this seminar is required to lead

Meet behind Robo at 9am, back by 3:30pm.
Winter's has visited our trails and done her damage. It's time to clear out
those blowdowns and prepare for spring hiking! Come swing an axe or pull a
saw. No experience necessary.

*SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY:*
Hiking Mt. Cube****
We will be hiking up to the summit via the AT, there are several nice
overlooks (as well as the summit) that offer nice views of the surrounding
mountains and countryside. The hike will be moderate in difficulty, about
6.6 miles or so.****
Cost: $6****
Time: leaving at 9am, return by 5pm****

Gile Mt. Relaxation Hike
What: A super chill 1.5 mile round trip hike to Gile Mt. firetower in
nearby Norwich Vt.
When: 10 am to early afternoon
Cost: $2 DOC, $3 non-DOC
Description: Come be enjoy the first weekend of term outside in a
guaranteed 100% stress free environment. We will leave in the late
morning for the gentle 0.7 mile hike to Gile mountain firetower in
Norwich Vt., which has majestic views of the upper valley. Excellent
snacks and lunch will be provided along with scintillating conversation.
