To the Dartmouth Community --

Yesterday, one of the most destructive storms in Oklahoma’s history tore through the state. On May 3rd, 1999, a storm of similar conditions<http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/20/us/oklahoma-1999-tornado/index.html> followed almost the same path as yesterday's storm. The sheer amount of devastation<http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/21/us/tornado-oklahoma.html?_r=0> and loss of life is as massive as those of fourteen years ago.

Oklahoma is more than a place or state for its residents. There are those in your own Dartmouth community that call it home. Oklahomans are a resilient people, proud to live in a state where they know they belong to the land and the land they belong to is grand. In Oklahoma, you grow up learning to be tough and to love your fellow Oklahomans--especially when times are rough. These are learned behaviors in a state where disasters are not uncommon.

As an organization with chapter and national members who are Oklahomans with families and friends affected by this disaster, Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, Inc. has decided to collect cash and check donations for organizations that have set up funds for the relief efforts. With your help, the affected communities of Moore, Shawnee, and Newcastle can begin rebuilding their lives once again. Any amount can help someone in need.
