Andrew Sosanya is a ‘20 studying Physics and Computer Science. On campus, he's an Undergraduate Advisor, a Computer Science Tutor, and the booking manager for the Friday Night Rock concert series. He enjoys fostering his passion for STEM as a member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Vice President of the Dartmouth Physics Society. This past Thursday, the Cleopatra Mathis Poetry & Prose series welcomed essayist Rachel Kaadzi Ghansah to Sanborn Library for a reading of her work. Ghansah is an essayist popularized for her skilled and tactful use of the writing craft to explore the interiority of Black life and the external reality that informs it.

Celeste Jennings is an ‘18 from Arkansas, currently majoring in Studio Art at Dartmouth. On campus she has been heavily involved with Soul Scribes and the Theatre Department as a costume designer. This year she was awarded a Senior Fellowship to work on a project for the duration of the year where she is writing a play and also designing the costumes for it. We sat down with Celeste to learn a bit more about her experience.

Last week, Jerry Rosembert Moise, one of Haiti’s most renowned graffiti artists, graced our campus with a live installation and demonstration of art on canvas. His art fills the walls of many Haitian streets, particularly in the capital Port-au-Prince. On Tuesday, Rachel had the pleasure of meeting the artist during his exhibition at the Nearburg Gallery in the Black Family Visual Arts Center sponsored by the Anthropology and Studio Art departments.
