Yvonne Kwan is a post-doctoral fellow with the Society of Fellows. She has taught two courses--SOCY 16: Constructing Social Theory and SOCY 42: A Sociological Introduction to Asian American Experiences--while at Dartmouth. Dr. Kwan earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2015 with her dissertation, "Encountering Memory and Trauma: Transgenerational Transmission of Trauma in Cambodian Americans", where she examines how trauma and violent histories may be transmitted from one generation to the next, particularly via the older generation's use of narrative fragments, caesuras, and/or silences.
