Spring is coming and so is WISE Volunteer Advocate Training!

The WISE 24 hour, toll-free crisis line is available to victims and survivors
of domestic and sexual violence and stalking, thanks to empathetic and dedicated
community members, like you, who answer calls every hour, every day.

The 2011 spring training schedule is:
May 14, 15, 21, 22
8:30am-4:30pm

at the WISE Program Center
38 Bank Street
Lebanon, NH

After completing a 30 hour training, volunteer advocates respond to crisis line
calls with privileged communication. Advocates play a critical role in fulfilling
WISE's mission and in creating a more peaceful Upper Valley. Please visit our
website, http://www.wiseoftheuppervalley.org, for more information about WISE's
philosophy and the spectrum of services offered to Upper Valley residents.

Current advocates have shared that volunteering for WISE "changes the way you
look at the world" and that "working with survivors allows [you] to fully realize
the power, strength, and resilience within all of us." Our fall trainees have
said that the training facilitators "were clearly experts in their field, putting
a lot of time and energy into teaching" and they "treated everyone as peers and
equals °© showing us the empowerment model through all their interactions."

Celebrating its 40th year of service, WISE invites you to become part of a diverse
group of community members who empower victims of domestic and sexual violence
and stalking to become safe and self-reliant.

Feel free to peruse and distribute the attached cover letter, application, flyers,
training topics, and expectations. The more interest the merrier!

If you would like to talk to Students on Campus about the volunteer experiences
blitz WISEatD!
