The mandatory informational meeting will now be held in *Reed 104*. Come by
at 9:00 if you're interested in hiking, and at 9:30 if you want to
volunteer!

*#*#*#*#* SUMMER 50 MILE HIKE *#*#*#*#*
==========July 20 and 21, 2012==========

Hike or support the Summer 50!

Mandatory information session for hikers and volunteers:
This Wednesday July 11
Reed Hall 104
Meeting for hikers starts at 9:00 pm
Meeting for volunteers starts at 9:30 pm

What is the Fifty?

4 people, 53.6 miles, Hanover to Moosilauke in 2 Days and 1 night, No
sleep! Thirty brave Dartmouth students will hike 50 miles from Hanover to
Moosilauke Ravine Lodge in teams of 3-4, following the Appalachian Trail.

Fifty other Dartmouth students will be waiting at seven support stations
along the trail, to feed and hydrate the hikers, rub their feet, and
provide general merriment.

When is the Fifty?

July 20 and 21

Hikers will leave Hanover between 11-2:00pm on Friday afternoon, and be at
the Lodge for dinner on Saturday

How do I prepare for the meeting?

Get a team together - the 50 is hiked by teams of 3 or 4 people. Try to
find 2 or 3 other students who you won't mind spending 30 hours with,
alone, in the woods. Once you've got your team organized, think of a
clever team name.

If you don't have enough teammates, don't worry. You should be able to find
a number of willing hikers at the meeting.

Come find out more at the information sessions on Wednesday!
