Hi Everyone!

Tonight at Theology on Tap we will be discussing how we express our faith through different forms of art, including (but not limited to) music, dance, and the visual arts! The arts often serve as a powerful outlet for both personal expression and reflecting on our societies and communities. Religion and faith are critical to both of these dimensions, and of course there is a long history of religion in art. Tonight we will pick apart the interaction between faith and the arts in both a historical and modern context.

Discussion questions may include:

- Is there a difference between art for personal expression and art intended as a reflection of society? Do faith and religion manifest in different ways depending on the purpose of the art?

- Are there any arts that you think are more suited for either one of these purposes?

- How has the interaction between faith and the arts changed over time?

- Personally, do you feel that the arts are a productive method of engaging with your faith? Why or why not?

Join us tonight at 9 pm at the Canoe Club for discussion of these questions and more over a round of free drinks and garlic fries! We hope to see you there!

Peace,

Marielle
