Each year, the Nathan Smith Society joins with with Geisel student members of the Physicians for Human Rights group to create a major conference devoted to human rights issues. This is an important opportunity for students to shape the focus on human rights on campus. In the recent years, the conference has included topics such as violence, refugees, gender issues, incarceration and poverty. In looking to the next academic year, you can now become part of the group that plans and executes this event. Valentina Sedlacek 18 of the NSS Executive Committee has put together a brief questionnaire to identify students who want to contribute ideas about conference topics and to join the group that is planning for the conference to be held either in the fall or winter terms (exact date pending). We look forward to the ideas, energy and involvement of all Dartmouth students, not just those interested in health careers!
