3) Take a Break: Sunday night Taizé services: 5-5:30 in Rollins Chapel

The Sunday night Taizé service in Rollins Chapel is a wonderful way to experience inner stillness and peace in the midst of so much outer activity. This 30 minute candlelit service is patterned after the prayer from the Taizé community in France and has space for silence, scripture, meditation and simple singing (accompanied by incredibly talented student musicians). For more information, talk to Nancy Vogele at Tucker.

This week’s theme is: Loving Your Life

5) SEAD Applications are OUT!

Applications for the Spring are due Mon. Oct. 21st at 9 am.
The Summer Enrichment at Dartmouth (SEAD) program is a multi-year college enrichment program that empowers promising high school students from under-resourced backgrounds to thrive in high school and college, and provides undergraduates with transformative opportunities for service and leadership.
For its high school scholars, SEAD offers summer programs, interns during the academic year, and reunion weekends at Dartmouth. We are currently seeking to fill SEAD internship positions for the Spring 2014 term. The SEAD Internship gives you the opportunity to support SEAD students in their high schools. SEAD interns work both with SEAD students and other students at SEAD partner schools to promote educational success and college access.
***SEAD interns are given free housing, a living stipend and program funds to organize activities for SEAD students.***

6) First Resistance Workshop!

Thursday, October 17, 5:30 to 7:30pm, Fahey Lounge, first floor
Sponsored by faculty, staff, students and community members, the Workshop is designed to dispel the myth of Dartmouth as a bastion of conformity—a place where activism is rare. We’ll examine the mechanics of movement-building as a means of equipping ourselves with the practical knowledge we need to rebuild a local culture of engagement and dissent.
ALL are welcome. Join us! Build a new Dartmouth Culture!
