Join César Chávez Pre-Doctoral Fellow Christopher Loperena and the Afro-American Society to learn about this dynamic and politically engaging group of people.

We will be discussing who the Garifuna are, their migration to America, their experiences adjusting to the racial ideology that comprises this country and the political activism in which they have been involved. Be prepared to contribute your thoughts in a discussion about race and culture.
