This Friday at 6:30 in Haldeman 124 The Dartmouth World Affairs Council has the pleasure of hosting a dinner and open discussion with former CENTCOM General James Mattis. If you are not busy this Friday evening (looking at you, '17s), join us for intelligent discourse and free C & A's subs. There will be limited seating available, so please respond to this e-mail if you plan on attending.


The Dartmouth World Affairs Council is an organization sponsored by the Dickey Center for International Understanding that is dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of world issues. Our goal has been to engage national and international actors and exports in a forum conducive to intelligent, thoughtful discussion of issues facing the United States and the world. Gen. James Mattis, retired commander of U.S. Central Command, is the Class of 1950 Senior Foreign Affairs Fellow this fall at the Dickey Center for International Understanding. Mattis, a 41-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, retired in March as commander of CENTCOM, which covers American military activities in the Middle East and Western and Central Asia, including Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, and Syria.
