Cabin and Trail leads lots and lots of hikes, cabin overnights, and assorted shenanigans even in the winter! And you can borrow any and all winter gear that you might need - from warm layers to zero degree sleeping bags to snowshoes - for FREE!!!! (Just ask!)



If you'd like to get outside this weekend, sign up for any of the trips below by either completing the linked google form or blitzing the email provided with your DA$H, dietary restrictions, and shoe size!

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY    What: #Nunnemacher #Cabin #Overnight (aka Jam Fest)

When: Friday 7pm-Saturday 10am

Why: Because what's better than listening to some sweet jams while eating some sweet jams

Level: 1, half mile walk to cabin

Leaders: Matt Radosevich, Nick Samel

Cost: $1 DOC, $3 non DOC

Gear: Layers, sleeping bag, headlamp, musical instrument

SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY      What: #Norwich #Contra #Dance

When: Saturday, 7:45pm to 11ish

Why: contra dancing is a traditional New England folk dance and it's super fun and you should most certainly come because what else do you have to do on your Saturday evening!!!

Level : 0

Leaders: Kevin Donohue and Rachel Kent

Cost: free DOC, $1 non-DOC; $8 cash at the door

SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY      What: Franconia Ridge!

When: Sat, 1/12, 8:30 am - 6 pm

Why: Because it's winter and cold and maybe icy but only 10 miles and we love putting one foot in front of the other!

Level: 4

Leaders: Anna Ellis (Leader) and Ben Brody (Heeler)

Cost: $8 DOC, $12 not-yet-DOC

Gear: "day pack, warm layers, and two bottles of water. All gear is available to be borrowed from Dartmouth Outdoor Rentals, for free."

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY    What: #Gile #Sunsike!

When: 3:30PM - 5:30 PM

Why: A fun walk in the woods with beautiful sunset views from a fire

tower. This hike is short, easy, and a great way to end your weekend.

Level : 1

Leaders: Henry Burns & Ben Brody

Cost: FREE! for DOC; $2 not-yet-DOC

Gear: Non-cotton pants and under layers, warm outer layers (fleeces &

puffy jackets), gloves, hiking boots. All of this can be borrowed from

the DOC (for free!!!) if needed.

sign up.

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY    What: Mt. Cannon Hike!

When: 8am to 3pm

Why: A moderate four mile hike up a four thousand footer! In the snow! With friends! And food!

Level: 3.5

Leaders: Maddy Kroot and Ethan Goldman

Cost: $6 DOC, $9 not-yet-DOC

Gear: warm layers, waterproof boots, snowshoes (all of which you can borrow! For free!)

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY    What: Mount Cube Hike!!

When: 8:30-5 pm on Sunday

Why: Want to try winter hiking? Want to see some beautiful views? Want to celebrate snow? Want to hang out with cool people and have snacks? These are all excellent reasons for coming on this hike!

Level : 3

Leaders: Kyle Bretherton and Maya Khanna

Cost: 5$ DOC, 8$ not-yet-DOC

Gear: Hiking boots, warm socks, hat, mittens , buff, baselayer, fleece, shell, puffy/outer jacket, daypack, 2 liters of water. Note: overboots, balaclavas, overmitts, microspikes, etc. will be provided- and other gear can be provided if you don’t have it! Just let us know 😊 )

A note about levels....



Level 1: Short, easy, super-beginner friendly hikes at a leisurely pace with relatively little elevation gain. Think Gile sunsikes and trips to Mink Brook!

Level 2: Slightly longer but still beginner friendly hikes with slight elevation gain, typically half day trips! Think Holt's Ledge or Moose Mountain!

Level 3: Longer trips with moderate elevation gain and mileages! Think Smarts and Cube!

Level 4: Longer trips with more significant elevation gain and mileages! Think Franc Ridge or the Kinsmans!

Level 5: Trips with the most significant elevation gain and mileages! Think Madison, Adams, and Washington!
