Hello! Just a few minor corrections on the previous "This Week in Cabin and Trail" email:



1. The feed is Wednesday (TONIGHT) at 7pm (NOT 6:30PM)

2. If you would like to go on the Mount Mansfield hike on SUNDAY, you can blitz

*Don't forget about the feed on Wednesday at 6:30pm at the Rock (16 Sargent Street). There will be a walking train leaving from behind Robinson Hall at 6:15pm. IT IS FREE FOR 22s and $4 for everyone else

Why:                 Fun morning walk in the woods to do some cut apart some fallen over trees featuring snacks and friends! Also trailwork is a requirement to be a leader!

When:        Friday 5:15 PM - 8 PM

Why:         A chill hike to watch the sunset from the top of a fire tower!!

THIS IS AN OVERNIGHT

What:      Northern Pemi Loop (Twins, Bonds, Zealand, and Hale)

When:        7:30 P.M. Friday - 8:00 P.M. Saturday

Why:         This is a big hike - we're covering 23 miles over 7 mountains, all in a day. We'll stay overnight at Billings Cabin and get on the trail before sunrise, then spend all Saturday in some of the most remote and beautiful terrain in the Whites. This hike is one of the most physically challenging trips that we run, so you should be very confident in your hiking experience and fitness level.

Level :     5 - this is an extremely challenging hike, covering 23 miles and over 7,000 vertical feet.

Leaders:  Matt Magann '21 and Saige Gitlin '22

Cost:        $10 DOC, $15 Not-Yet-DOC

Gear: Sleeping bag, warm non-cotton layers, and at least 3 liters of water. You can borrow gear from the DOC!

What:       Montpelier Contra Dance!

When:        6:45 – late (midnightish)

Why:         Contra dancing is a traditional form of dance in New England—and a TON of fun! Beginners very welcome!!! Montpelier contra's the best around!

What: The Kinsmans!

When: 8AM - 6:30PM

Why: It'll be an awesome 12mi hike up two 4000 footers with great views! Also, fall foliage is starting to come in!

Level : 4

 Leaders: Tommy Hart and Seamore Zhu.

Gear: a daypack, at least 2L of water, hiking shoes, an extra warm layer

When:   9 AM to 5 PM

Why:      Help bridge the swamp!  Get your trail work requirement done!  Explore worlds of fun!  FREE ICE CREAM

Level :    Level 2-4 depending on what you want to do (easy and tough jobs available)

When:               9am - 5pm

Why:               Come build arguably the most important piece of the AT besides the trail itself. Maybe you'll even get to use it. Also Trailwork is fun! Also free food! It won't even smell bad yet.

When: Sunday 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Why: Catch some of the most beautiful panoramic views in all of New Hampshire, make new friends, eat dope snacks, AND have enough time left in your Sunday to finish all of your homework and gear up for an awesome Week 4!!!

Level :     2-3

Leaders: Emma Doherty and Emily Stehr

Cost:        $3 DOC member $6 not-yet-DOC member

Gear: 2-3 L of water, sturdy hiking shoes
