THIS WEEK IN CABIN AND TRAIL


To sign up for any trip, blitz the leader of that trip with your DA$H number (make sure you have money in your account!) or saying you would like to pay in cash. Please also send any dietary restrictions.  Your spot will be reserved once you pay.  If the trip is free, just blitz the leader to reserve a spot. Financial aid is available for DOC members if the trip costs more than $10. If you are not a DOC member, you can become one by visiting Robinson Hall 119 to sign up.


WEDNESDAY WEDNESDAY WEDNESDAY

What: The Feed!

When: Wednesday at 7pm

Where: The Rock (16 Sargent Street; directions<https://www.dartmouth.edu/~cabtrail/rock.shtml>)

Why: Homemade dinner. friends. crepes for dessert. why not?!

Cost: $4 in cash of DA$H unless you help do dishes


THURSDAY THURSDAY THURSDAY

What: Ascutney!
When: 12-5 on Thursday!
Why: Because it's the 24th-most prominent mountain in New England! More prominent than Adams! Than Lincoln! Than every single White except the Kinsmen, Moosilauke, Washington, and Lafayette! (it also has a fire tower)

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY

What: Fat Moose Dip Scoops Fore U PART 2: Drive-in to the Dip (Fairlee Drive In + Whippi Dip ice cream)
When: 7:30pm -11:00 pm
Why: Because drive-in movie theaters are so much better than Netflix, and Whippi Dip is a much better deal than Morano! Come join for part 2 of the newly established ice cream toure. We will pay a visit to Whippi Dip and then saunter down the road to the Fairlee drive-in where the film is "Tom Cruise tackles the world" aka Mission Impossible. Best way to spend a Friday night? Absolutely.

SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY

What: Mt. Chocorua and Lodge dinner!

When: Saturday 8:45am to after lodge dinner.

Why: Because it is a beautiful 9 mile scrambley hike with 360 degree views and everyone loves the lodge in the summer!!!!! Also lodge dinner is negotiable. Yay lets go!!!!

What: Owl's Head!
When: Saturday Saturday Saturday from 8AM-9PM
Why: Strenuous 18 mile hike with some off trail sections and a cool slide trail! Probably the hardest 4000 footer to hit logistically, so get it while you can! Also whippi dip on the way back. Also also Mac Murphy may be making a guest appearance.

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY

What: PORTAGE!
When: 6:30am - 9:30pm
Why: Lest the old traditions fail - portage is the CnT hike where we carry a canoe up Mt. Washington. Yes, there are lakes at the top, and we will canoe in them! It's about 9 miles of moderately strenuous hiking (made slightly more difficult by the canoe). This trip generally only runs once per year, so don't miss out!
