Responsibilities include: work with academic departments to implement technology in language teaching, for both resident instruction and distance learning; write grant proposals for the development and assessment of technology in language teaching and in second language acquisition research; teach a course, offered in one or more of the language departments, on technology in language instruction, and conduct workshops on that topic. Requirements: Ph.D. in applied linguistics or related field; knowledge of the role of technology in language learning and teaching, language teaching methodologies, and second language acquisition research; high level of communicative ability in written and spoken English and at least one other language; foreign/second language teaching experience; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues of diverse backgrounds, interests, and levels of technology expertise. The Associate Director for Instructional Technology reports to the Director of the Center. Salary competitive.
