The Gift of the Christmas Cookies: A staged reading of the play by local storyteller, Michael Caduto About the Play The Sherman family members return from service at the Beaver Meadow Chapel to prepare for the Christmas holiday by making gifts of Christmas cookies that resemble each person who will receive a cookie. The family doesn’t have very much, but they take care to enjoy everything they’ve been given, and especially take good care of each other. After making the rounds of the countryside to distribute their Cookie People gifts to friends and neighbors, the Shermans return home. While they’re asleep, something magical happens that changes their holiday, and their lives, forever. From Michael Caduto: "The writing of this stage play was supported by a grant from the Vermont Arts Endowment Fund of the Vermont Community Foundation. The production is made possible by the generosity of Artistree Community Arts Center, with a special thanks to Ashley Barrow."
