I just walked the River Trail in Hanover and saw a pair of Northern Pintails among a large gathering of waterfowl on the Connecticut River at the mouth of Mink Brook. Other waterfowl included Canada Geese, Wood Ducks, Mallards, Green-winged Teal, Ring-necked Ducks, Common Goldeneye, Buffleheads, one Hooded Merganser, Common Mergansers, and two drake scaup which looked like Greaters to me. I also saw a kingfisher and a couple Tree Swallows. Wood frogs were calling from a vernal pool along the trail.
