There were two Red Crossbills drinking out of a puddle on Beaver Meadow Rd. in Norwich today around 12:45 PM. Near where Norwich has a woodpile for distribution. Looked like a male and a female- had a pretty good look through binoculars. Not sure which variety I should classify them as-did not hear them.
I chose Loxia curvirostra (type A) for lack of better information. Be happy to change that if informed.
