Over the last ten days I have seen numerous small flocks of juncos; most often flushed from the road's edge as I was driving. Tuesday afternoon, the bar for junco sightings was raised to a very high level. Traveling along the VT side of the Connecticut River from Hanover's Ledyard Bridge to E. Thetford, I sighted 150+/- juncos in groupings ranging from three or four to flocks including 20+/- individuals! Crossing into Lyme from E. Thetford and driving along E. Thetford Road and Dorchester Road to Lyme Center, 50+/- juncos were totaled.
