Mac users with OpenAFS clients should be aware that you will need to uninstall existing OpenAFS client or Auristor client, and upgrade to Auristor 0.160. Auristor prefer that you download the client yourself from: https://www.auristor.com/openafs/client-installer/ But also see the notes (and a copy of the installer) at: https://caligari.dartmouth.edu/downloads/openafs/Mac%20OSX%2010.13%20High%20Sierra/ First though, get the installer for the OLD version from: https://caligari.dartmouth.edu/downloads/openafs/Mac%20OSX%2010.12%20Sierra/_OLD/ Mount the DMG, run the 'Uninstall' script. This removes the old version, apart from the stuff that is created post-install. I like to clean up completely, so I do (in Terminal) sudo rm -rf /var/db/openafs The Auristor installer doesn't enable crypt mode by default, so I wrote a setupAFScrypt.sh script to enable that on boot. If the system was upgraded from a previously working Kerberos version, it already has the krb5.conf file. The Auristor authentication tool (menu bar) is basically the same as the old OpenAFS one. You still need to find the preference panel and check boxes "Auristor Menu" "Backgrounder" "Use aklog" ----- Richard Brittain, Research Computing Group, IT&C, 37 Dewey Field Road, HB6219 Dartmouth College, Hanover NH 03755 [log in to unmask] 603-646-2085 http://rc.dartmouth.edu/
