Your professional identity connects you to your work, which can include your job, your professional research, or your creative work. It is important to have a unique and unambiguous identity, connect that identity with your accomplishments, communicate about your work to the audience you want, and measure the impact of your work. In this interactive workshop, you’ll use tools and services such as ORCID, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, Google and more, to make the best decisions for your professional identity. We will also address how to manage your identity in social media like Twitter, FaceBook, and blogs, which are key components of the personal and professional identity ecosystem. Bring your laptop. We’ll discuss tools that can support informed decisions about where to publish your work and how to retain rights to your own work.
