A big day for first of season arrivals.
As I headed out the door at 6:15 a.m. to help host the Mascoma Chapter's "Feathered Friday" outing at Union Village Dam, I was greeted by the bright, insistent call of a common yellowthroat and a catbird's nasally meow. 

In the afternoon, a black-throated green warbler, a chestnut-sided warbler, and a robin with a soar throat, yes, a scarlet tanager, were heard calling in the woods
