Hello,

My name is Mariana Kavroulaki; I am an experimental archaeologist-food
historian from Greece.
Brigid Ogden should read Athenaeus' Deipnosophistae , which, though not
primarily a cookbook, includes immense amounts of material on all aspects
of food. Athenaeus also discusses the works of Mithaecus, who wrote the
treatise called the Sicilian Cookery, Archestratus of Gela, Herakleides
from Syracuse etc.

Kind regards,
Mariana Kavroulaki
