At about 12:15 p.m., I was treated to the spectacle of three red-tailed hawks soaring and circling over the house, each giving its piercing, coarse whistle in sequence as if engaged in a call and response. After about five minutes in clear view, they drifted to the northeast, disappearing behind the tree canopy. A new family taking a spin together?
