Ten people joined in for a walk this morning on the Trescott Water Company Land in Hanover.  It was relatively quiet with overcast skies, but a few species were especially cooperative including several wood thrush, ovenbirds, pine and black-and-white warblers, and many white-throated sparrows and American goldfinch.  (chickadees and titmice too).

At Parker Reservoir we saw 3 bufflehead (1 male, 2 females), a male common goldeneye, wood ducks and mallards, plus barn and tree swallows over the water.  Other good finds included broad-winged hawk, several drumming ruffed grouse, blue-headed vireo, common yellowthroat, yellow-rumped and black-throated green warblers, and a rose-breasted grosbeak.

With the abundance of snags in the forest this is also a great spot for woodpeckers, brown creepers, and nuthatches.

The morning total was 41 species.
