This RADG meeting will be designed as a fireside chat with panelists speaking their varied experiences with

collaborators, colleagues and sponsors as they relate to subaward agreements. It can be difficult to balance the

expectations of several parties with institutional policies and sponsor requirements all while respecting the position of

your collaborators. The panelists will consider how the golden rule impacts their negotiation style. Panelists will also

speak to how to leverage the grants lifecycle to your advantage to streamline the subaward process at each step of the

way. Attendees are welcome to come with their questions and challenges, whether those are terms of an award or

approach with another institution.

 

Participants

Amanda Humphrey - Assistant Director of Research , Office of Academic and Research Integrity Harvard Medical School.

Amanda serves as the Assistant Director of Research Compliance in the Office of Academic and Research Integrity at

Harvard Medical School. Amanda also serves as a co-chair for the subawards committee at the Federal Demonstration

Partnership, a body of government agencies and research institutions committed to streamlining grants

management. Previously, Amanda was a Post-Award and Contracts Manager at Partners Research Management,

overseeing a complex portfolio of research departments across Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts

General Hospital. Prior to that, Amanda worked at Hogan Lovells in both their New York and London offices as a

paralegal, supporting large scale litigations and investigations. Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith

College and a Master of Arts degree from University College London.

 

Melissa Korf - Associate Director, Grants & Contracts in Sponsored Programs Administration, Harvard Medical School

Melissa is the Associate Director, Grants & Contracts in Sponsored Programs Administration at Harvard Medical

School. In this role, Melissa manages the team responsible for review and negotiation of a wide variety of sponsored

research-related agreements for HMS, including incoming awards and outgoing subaward agreements. Melissa also

serves as a co-chair for the recently created Data Stewardship committee of the Federal Demonstration

Partnership. Prior to joining HMS, Melissa spent almost 7 years in central sponsored programs at Boston University after

beginning her career as a department administrator. Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts and Master or Arts degrees

from Boston University.
