I hate the winter, but I find Winter Grant Weekend to be a good time. This event is a splendid opportunity to check out one of the most under-utilized College recreation centers and an absolutely beautiful part of
New Hampshire. There will be cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, dog-sledding, wilderness skills workshops, story-telling, friendship, and possibly a trip to LL Cote - a bastion of outdoor goods and apparel. Wow!
Winter Grant Weekend will occur from February 19-21st. The Grant is about 3.5 hours away from Hanover. Rides will be departing from Hanover
at 2PM and 5PM on the 19th. Personal vehicles will not be permitted. There is space for 30 undergraduates. There will be a waitlist if necessary. If you are accepted, there is a $25 cost for undergraduate DOC members, $40 for non-DOC members. Financial aid
is available.
In order to welcome a diverse assortment of interested persons into the festival of joy and wintry magic that defines the annual Winter Grant Weekend, we are eliminating the first-come-first-serve nature of Winter
Grant Weekend and introducing an application/lottery process.
In order to be eligible for the lottery, you must complete this most arduous application. Only
the applicants with the best response will be submitted into the
Winter Grant Weekend
Powerball Lottery. You must fill out this form by
5:30 PM on January 31st in order to be eligible for the lottery. No late submissions will be considered.
