Highlights of our route for the Springfield CBC included a stream of 40 Pine Siskins that poured out of Hemlock Trees in response to Mike's pishing along Spencer Hollow Road, Eastern Bluebirds and Cedar Waxwings feeding enthusiastically in and flying low between two patches of fruit next to the Connecticut River, and two Golden-crowned Kinglets that appeared late in the day at Wilgus State Park. We were also pleased to find Carolina Wrens in their usual location along the Black River next to the Paddock Road. The Black-capped Chickadee count was low, but the duck numbers were high with all the open water.
