Put the feeders out for the first time on Tuesday, and began this season's PFW count on Wednesday.

It took a white-breasted nuthatch and two black-capped chickadees less than a half hour on Tuesday to locate the feeders. The first PFW count period ending Thursday recorded modest results. Eight species were tallied with blue jays (ten) comprising the largest group present.

This marks my 23rd consecutive PFW season with ten years at this location. What will this season bring?
