A brisk northwesterly wind, cold temperatures and heavy overcast, that created poor lighting conditions, combined to make it a difficult morning in the field at Windsor, VT's ever popular and usually productive birding destination. Only 15 species were positively identified with at least two others eluding a certain record.

The outing's highlights were a belted kingfisher heard chattering from the wetland below the "Main Dike Trail" and a northern harrier that hunted "The Meadow" area. Waterfowl present included two black ducks, a solitarty double-crested cormorant and 16 Canada geese.
