I birded a few spots around Orford this morning. Highlights included two Lincoln's Sparrows at Tullando Farm and a Pied-billed Grebe on the Jacob's Brook outlet from Trinity Farm. https://www.flickr.com/photos/mt_cube/21380219099/in/dateposted-public/ I also had an adult Bald Eagle at Reed's Marsh and an immature Bald Eagle at Trinity Farm. Two small dabbling ducks mixed in with a flock of Mallards on Jacob's Brook outlet were probably Green-winged Teal, but were a bit distant. Many Savannah Sparrows in the fallow fields at Trinity Farm, but the many Bobolinks present recently seemed to have moved on. A BROWN PELICAN was reported from Mascoma Lake and Newfound Lake on the New Hampshire listserv. (Seen on BOTH lakes sometime Friday!) I may go chasing it today. If it is lake-hopping around Grafton County, folks should keep an eye out! -- *The Right-To-Know Law provides that most e-mail communications, to or from Lebanon School District employees regarding the business of the School District, are government records available to the public upon request.
