Dear
All,
In
this issue, Senta Goertler (Michigan State University) discusses the role of technology in study abroad programs; Sabine Levet (MIT) describes a web-based tool to help students develop intercultural competence; Chesla Bohinsky (Binghamton University, NY) and
Salvador Venegas Escobar (Universidad de Monterrey, Mexico) provide 6 tips for successful telecollaboration exchanges and Carolin Fuchs (Columbia University) tackle the issue of student preparation in telecollaboration exchanges.
We
also had the great pleasure to interview Toni Theisen, Director of the Thompson School District Dual Language Immersion program in Loveland, CO. In her interview, Toni discusses the work she did as ACTFL teacher of the year and ACTFL President and how she
was able to use her credentials and experience to start a Spanish dual immersion program in her school district.
Our
tech highlight by Stefano Maranzana (University of Arizona) is on Earworm, a program that uses music for language learning.
Also
take a look at the Calico 2015 conference report hosted by CU Boulder in may!
Enjoy
and consider submitting an article for the November issue!
Thank
you and see you all at FLEAT VI!
Edwige.
